my niece made her debut at the start of this week, so it made it a wonderful week. a whirlwind of a week, but a wonderful whirlwind of a week. i am so in love, and the shift that i had felt working inside me feels almost complete- i am no longer just living my life for me, i am living it for the new little that has my heart in her tiny little, perfect hand. i get to hold her tonight. i am counting down the minutes!
and speaking of littles, y’all know how much i love it when kiddos submit their art- how about this one? it’s a two-fer even! one kiddo had one side, another kiddo had the other. look at those bats! and is that a tree house in bryker woods (“briker woods”)? just awesome- i love the little glimpses into the crazy awesome imagination of the littles. it makes me want to focus on capturing my own raw imagination and creativity.
i love the watercolor jellyfish. in my humble opinion, watercolor was a perfect medium to capture the floaty, trailing tentacles – looking at this postcard makes me remember the way i always used to stare at the jellyfish exhibit when i was a kid. (and if i am truthful, i remember not too long ago staring at all the illuminated jellyfish in the monterey bay aquarium- they were lit by black light, making the movement of the creatures all the more ethereal).
would you like to send in some art? (of course you do!!) send it to:
