buzzing lines

i have been having a hell of a time getting out of bed in the morning the past two weeks. what is going on? is anyone else out there feeling the same way? i don’t know what it is. i need to get my butt in gear.

i love today’s postcards. and i love the way they look together.treaty oaks is one of my absolute favorite trees in the world. there is something so sacred about it and this drawing of it captured that. the buzzing lines within the tree make me feel like it’s holding prayers, hopes and dreams while the serene watercolor in it’s background suspend the peace tree in it’s space, giving even more power to all of the prayers.

and the “you (& me)” postcard is just so much fun and so great. it’s a combination of comic book and dr seuss. the placement of the lines and the shapes  create this sort of whimsy that you can get lost in. the little detail of “& me” is almost hidden, but so powerful. “& me” isn’t the afterthought, it is the platform for “you. ”

what do you think of todays postcards? what do they make you think about? do they stir any creative drives?

send in a postcard!
